The finance journey

Not sure what to expect when it comes to your finance journey? That’s why we created a guide so that you know what this exciting process involves.

The finance journey

Finance is only scary if you don’t understand what’s going on. Take two minutes to read our step-by-step guide, and you can start looking forward to the day you accept your new keys…

Chat with a Resolve Mortgage Broker and get an idea of how much you can – and should – borrow. It puts you in a powerful position when you’re home hunting, if you know what you can spend.

Choose your block of land, your home or your new home design. Once you’ve done that, don’t forget to nominate Resolve Conveyancing as your conveyancer - for even more convenience.

We’ll take a look at your chosen home and financial situation, then find you a loan that works for you. Ask your Mortgage Broker which documents to bring along and we’ll get your application happening there and then.

When you’ve given your Resolve Mortgage Broker your supporting documents, they’ll send your application to the lender, who’ll assess it for pre-approval.

If the lender has any conditions for the approval of your loan, we’ll contact you and keep things moving. While you’re waiting, try not to do anything that changes your eligibility.

A home loan is a significant commitment, so we recommend you check your insurances to ensure they’ll cover your income, family and assets.

Congrats - a ‘Letter of Offer’ from your lender means your loan is approved!

This is a great time to catch up with your Resolve Mortgage Broker to review your mortgage documents and make sure you understand the details of your loan. You’ll have a small pile of mortgage documents to sign, then we’ll notify your conveyancer, real estate agent or your builder on your behalf.

It’s time to pay your deposit and finalise your settlement. At this point, it’s a good idea to contact your Resolve Mortgage Broker just to make sure all the figures match-up to your expectations and needs.

You officially own your block of land or home!

Before you move into your new home, you’ll need to take out home and contents insurance. Talk to your Mortgage Broker who can refer you to some excellent options.

That’s it - you’re ready to get on with the next bit of life.
